My career in design began at Middle Tennessee State University where as a frustrated Computer Science major, I began taking Theatre classes looking for some type of creative outlet. I quickly fell in love with the people and expression offered by the medium and soon changed my Major. Although I enjoyed acting and directing, it was obvious to my mentors I had a skill set and eye to help tell the visual story on the stage with an aptitude for construction as well. I designed and co-designed several main stage productions and received an ACTF Design Award for excellence in design. I continued my education at the acclaimed Art School, Virginia Commonwealth University, and received my Masters in Theatrical Scenic Design. While in my final year, I applied and was selected to participate in the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences esteemed Internship Program in the Art Direction category. It was an eye opening experience and set me on my course for the future. After graduation, I returned to Los Angeles and soon landed my first job with the hottest TV production company at the time, Carsey-Werner and quickly cut my teeth on productions like Rosanne, Cybill and 3rd Rock From the Sun. I have now worked in the Television field for over 25 years in almost every format and style. It has been my good fortune to have worked with some of the most talented people in the industry on outstanding and diverse programs such as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, That 70's Show and Grease LIVE!. Along with my career in TV, creating visualizations, layouts and drawings for home owners, furniture makers and event/party planners have kept expanding my skill set and making life more challenging and interesting.
